One of our favourite projects began with a Victorian pine floor hidden beneath decades of old paint.

After carefully removing the paint, sanding the timber through three stages, repairing damaged boards, filling gaps and applying a durable finish, the original floor was revealed once again.

It’s a reminder that some of the best features in a home don’t need replacing - they simply need restoring.

The Person Behind UY Construct

UY Construct was founded by Hernán, who has spent the past six years working across a wide range of construction projects throughout the South West.

What started with a passion for flooring and restoration has grown into a business built around helping homeowners improve the spaces they live in.

Whether he’s restoring original floorboards, laying herringbone flooring or working on a larger home improvement project, Hernán believes that the small details make the biggest difference. Taking the time to understand each project, working with care, and treating every home with respect are all part of the job.

Today, UY Construct works with homeowners and businesses across Somerset and Wiltshire, delivering flooring, tiling and construction projects with the same hands-on approach that’s been there from the very beginning.
